DR. AR. JOSEPH KWAN MH

KEYNOTE SPEAKER

Joseph Kwan is a Member of the Hong Kong Government’s Rehabilitation Advisory Committee (RAC), Chair of the RAC Sub-Committee on Access, a Member of the Working Group on Access of the Equal Opportunities Commission Hong Kong, and a Member of the Technical Committee on Design Manual: Barrier Free Access of the Buildings Department.

He has been a Member of the Building Committee of the Hong Kong Housing Authority (2004-2012); the Co-Convenor of the Working Group on "Improving Access and Transport Facilities for the Visually Impaired" Access and Transport Subcommittee, of the Hong Kong Government’s Rehabilitation Development Coordinating Committee (1992-1993); a Member of the Special Group on the Review of the “Transport Planning and Design Manual, Volume 6, Chapter 8 Facilities for the Disabled,” of the Transport Department (1999-2001); a Member of the Transport Department’s Expert Group Forum and Working Group on Access to Public Transport by Disabled Persons (1996-2005), and a Member of the Advisory Committee on Barrier Free Access of the Buildings Department (1993-2005).

GUNAWAN TANUWIJAYA, PH.D(CAND)

INVITED SPEAKER

Gunawan Tanuwijaya is pursuing a PhD, in the School of Design, Faculty of Creative Industries, Queensland University of Technology with full support of the Australia Awards Scholarship. His research topic is related to Inclusive Design or Universal Design in Libraries for Persons with Disabilities. He is focusing on Case Study Research of Libraries in Australia and Indonesia.

Gunawan Tanuwidjaja was a Lecturer at Petra Christian University, Architecture Program in Indonesia. He has taught Inclusive Design with Service – Learning Methods involving Persons with Disabilities, since 2013. His course was always in collaboration with international partners such as UBCHEA, JICA and UN-Habitat.


SUZANNE DE LAVAL, PH.D

INVITED SPEAKER

Suzanne de Laval (Architect SAR/MSA and PhD) from Sweden is Co-Director of the UIA Architecture & Children Work Programme. She has also founded her own research company, Arkitekturanalys, (www.arkitekturanalys.se). Her research concerns planning for and with children, children’s perspectives, environmental impact assessment concerning children, built environment education for schoolchildren, and the impact of the school environment on education. Suzanne is member of the Council for Architecture & Children within the Swedish Association of Architects. She is also board member of the Swedish School Building Society.

MIA TEDJOSAPUTRO, PH.D

INVITED SPEAKER

Mia Tedjosaputro is a design researcher, a part-time lecturer, a design entrepreneur, and an architect. Having completed PGCHE course, a British teaching qualification for university lecturers, my recent focus is to build my teaching and architectural practice portfolio.

She is a founder and creative director of AKSEN PM, a research based experimental design studio, both in Ningbo, China, and Surabaya, Indonesia. She is a part-time lecturer at Architecture of Ningbo University, China, and also a guest lecturer at University of Nottingham, USA. Her research interest are including about Study Of Design Behavior. Digital Design Cognition, Digital Architecture, (Digital) Craftmanships, Embodied Creativity, and many more.

RULLY DAMAYANTI, PH.D

MODERATOR

Rully Damayanti is an Assistant Professor in Department of Architecture at Petra Christian University. She is also a Head of Magister Architecture Department at Petra Christian University. She completed her Ph.D at University of Sheffield, United Kingdom in 2015. Her research interest are including Temporality in Architecture, and Urban Planning Strategies.
